Abstract

Nowadays cardiovascular diseases are the leading causes of death in the world, including Brazil. Several research centers in Brazil are investing in research to improve knowledge of causative mechanisms of major diseases and the development of measures effective treatments for such diseases. Thus, it is important for the dissemination of research that people know the mechanisms and treatment of diseases and as the progress of scientific activities. Therefore, this project proposes the dissemination of research performed at the Laboratory of Lipid Discipline of endocrinology Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo (USP) that are mainly related to the study of lipid metabolism, with a focus in obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis and sepsis. The disclosure will be made by published material, especially in the magazine which is ComCiência produced by the Laboratory for Advanced Journalism Studies (Labjor), the Unicamp. (AU)
