Abstract

Tellurium nanowires will be prepared and used as templates in the preparation of new 1D composites 1D containing metallic nanoparticles/nanotubes and lanthanides compounds nanoparticles/nanotubes. The optical properties of the new materials will be studied as a funtion of the morphology and of the distance between the metal structure and the lanthanide based structure. That distance will be controlled through the methodology to be employed. The control of the plasmonic-photonic coupling will lead to nanomaterials displying differentiate optical properties that will find different applications in photonics and plasmonics. (AU)
