Abstract

Te nanowires will be prepared in solution and will be used as sacrificial templates for preparation of new 1D composite based on lanthanide ions oxides. The nanowires will be obtained by the action of reducing agents in the presence of stabilizers in an aqueous medium. From the Te nanowires, carbon structures (Te@C) will be obtained and these structures will be used in the preparation of nanowires/nanotubes of silicon and lanthanide oxides. Diffraction gratings constituted by natural polymer of fibroin will be prepared by drying the suspensions of the polymer on the surface of commercial diffraction gratings such as CD's and DVD's that will be used as templates. The diffraction gratings based on fibroin will be employed in the alignment of nanowires and nanotubes. The optical properties of the new materials will be investigated as a function of the morphology and direction of observation.
