Abstract

The first poems of Machado de Assis, published in A Marmota (1855-1857), represent one of his first literary experimentations, and, therefore contains many voices from a poetic tradition that influenced him. Thus, it is necessary to study the literary milieu of the time to outline how the learning of the poet was and verify in the poems your natural way of composing. (AU)
