The aim of this research is to demonstrate the economic and environmental advantages in the implementation of reverse logistics in the retail market. To reach that goal will be a study in São Paulo, Mogi das Cruzes, Tupã and Marília beside one or two supermarkets in each city to compare volumes and types of waste that is collected through reverse logistics. The expected results will be used Wuppertal method to measure quantitatively how much the company ceases to pollute the environment as well as to point out the economic advantages, the financial results will be compared to the net profit and turnover of retailers which are objects of study.
