Abstract

The degraded landscape of the region of Ribeirão Preto (SP), is marked by large concentrations of "angicos" (species of the genus Anadenanthera), around the edges of highways and municipal parks. Anadenanthera colubrina is a tree with great economic and ecological value and is part of the list of species to be used in the reforestation of the state of São Paulo according to Resolution SMA-21, 21/11/2001, Article 4 of the environmental secretary. This proposal, which forms part of a larger research project [FAPESP process 2013/01265-8, in hiring]; aims to investigate the patterns of genetic diversity and inbreeding of a population of Anadenanthera colubrina remaining in one of the last fragments in the urban area of the municipality of Ribeirão Preto (SP) localized in the Municipal Park "Morro de Sao Bento". As a tool for genetic analysis will be used molecular markers microsatellites (SSR), developed by our group since these markers are considered the most suitable for the population studies due to their higher polymorphism and codominant inheritance. The results will be used as a scientific base for the management and conservation of these forest genetic resources. (AU)
