Abstract

We propose the two months research stage in Italy (Rome) with the goal of establishing a dialogue with the academic supervisor Professor Dr. Nicola Gasbarro and search in the libraries available (Gregorian University and University of Rome - Sapienza) and in the Secret Archives of the Vatican works and documentation relating to topics covered in our research, especially those issues that will be developed in the third chapter. The activities that will be made are linked to the master project entitled "The shepherd of souls: the experience of faith in the writings of Monsignor José Silvério Horta (1859-1933), financed by FAPESP (process number 2012/09061-0). The main objective is to map the possible relations and appropriations established between Monsignor José Silvério Horta and Rome, in addition to researching the topics that will assist us in building the last chapter of the dissertation, that will address in a cultural history perspective the themes of miracles, exorcisms and others practices performed by Horta considered as supernatural.
