Abstract

New technologies and tools have being developed from the needs arising during process that requires power, precision and/or replication, everything to simplify as well as to facilitate those operations.During the development of alternative process for water treatment based on the application of Moringa oleifera seeds, it has been observed the need of developing a new method that simplifies the seeds processing for further application as natural coagulant. This way the introduction and application of the proposed alternative treatment would be considerably simplified.The aim of this research work is identified as to develop equipment to process the moringa seeds since the pods stage to the final powder product, passing through seed removal and seeds shelling.Initially, a detailed study of pods and seeds optical as well as mechanical properties will be carried out, aiming to survey basic parameters to develop the proposed processing equipment. In parallel, it will be also carried a research on shelling mechanisms as disclosed by the pertinent literature, aiming to select operating mechanisms suitable to this project. Finally it will be developed the equipment project by means of software simulations and further construction of a prototype for real tests.
