Abstract

This project focuses on the questioning about the detachment of the dramatic text in relation to the contemporary scene, starting from the analysis of three postdramatic performances of Shakespeare plays: 'Romeu e Julieta' (1992, dir. Gabriel Villela), with the group 'Galpão'; 'Ensaio.Hamlet' (2004 , dir. Enrique Diaz) , with 'Companhia dos Atores' and 'Macbeth' (2013 , dir. John Mowat) , with the Portuguese company 'Chapitô'. The contemplation and analysis of such works are made in light of the clash between the perspective of Hans-Thies Lehmann - which stands, in his 'Theory of postdramatic theatre', the total disconnect between the drama and the scene - and Jean-Pierre Sarrazac , to whom, on the contrary, this relationship is not extinct, but in constant reinvention .From the analysis of the three performances, interviews with the artists involved and a plot of critical reception of these works, the relationship between the observed phenomena will be subjected to generalizations. Crossed with the main theoretical studies of the area, they will point hypotheses about new place of classical dramaturgy in contemporary theater.
