Abstract

Currently, Brazil configures itself as one of the largest producers of tomato. This production is targeted to industry as well as to in natura consumption. Among the different existing cultivation groups of tomatoes, the "cherry" one features production growth in recent years. Within this group of mini tomatoes, there are the so called ones: grape, sweet grape and cherry tomatoes. Due to their high commercial value and especially their greater stability of prices at the commercialization time, the producers are opting to grow this group of tomatoes. However there are few studies of this group of tomatoes, because they are quite recent in the country. Because of that, the aim is to evaluate the agronomical feasibility of hybrids mini tomatoes using two driving systems in greenhouses at Vale do Ribeira region. Therefore it Will be installed a study which is going to be conducted by the Universidade Estadual Paulista, Câmpus de Registro, in a greenhouse. The outline will be in randomized blocks, arranged in subdivided plots, where there Will be horizontal and vertical growing systems, and in the sub plots the hybrids (AF 18196 tomato, Sakata Seed; Indeterminate AF 13106 Grape Tomato, Sakata Seed; Nina Tomato, Takii Seed; Cocktail Mascot Agristar Tomato/ Top Seed Premium) within six repetitions and four plants per plot. The sub plots will be 1,2 meters long, in which Will be added the four plants of each hybrid, with a 30 centimeters space between each plant. The cultivation of the tomatoes will be in 13 cubic decimeter plastic vases, filled with the substrate coconut husk fiber. It will be used the dripping irrigation system with a solution of nutrient. It will be assessed: total production, the fruit mass, transversal and longitudinal fruit diameters avarage, number of fruit, number of bunches per plants, number of fruit per bunch, precocity, production cycle, chlorophyll content and soluble solids. The data will be subjected to the analysis of variance F-test, and the averages purchased by Tukey Test to 5 percent probability.
