Abstract This project analyses three documentaries about the coup d'état in Chile (1973) and their consequences that have been made by foreign filmmakers from different countries: "Septembre chilien" (France, Bruno Muel, 1973), "Contra la razón y por la fuerza" (Mexico, Carlos Ortiz Tejeda, 1974) and "Ich war, ich bin, ich werde sein" (GDR, Heynowski and Scheumann, 1974). All of them have been shoot in Chile, only some weeks after the 11th September 1973 under the Pinochet repression. It has been possible because of the subversives strategies used by these filmmakers. They have pretended to be members of the international press to take advantages of the legitimization effort of the Military junta. Like that, they could denounce the persecution, prisons and murders that had become frequently in this country. It is possible to say that their foreign nationalities allowed them to access places where the Chilean filmmakers with left tendencies - most of them, in the prisons or in the exile - were forbidden to shoot, like the National Stadium or others prison camps. Among this research's goals, we can find the formulation of a list with films that have been made by foreign filmmakers about Chile after the coup d'état. It maybe confirms the hypothesis about the existence of a big international network film of solidarity with this nation. We also intend to discovery the mains aesthetic strategies used in these films, linking them with the policies discursion made by these documentaries. This project wants too compare these three films to find the similarities and the differences in the join between the text (film) and their contexts (that involved different nationalities). (AU) | |
