Abstract

This research project aims to analyze the Paulista agrarian question from a case study in the city of Ribeirão Preto, called "Projeto de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (PDS) da Barra". We are interested in knowing the strategies of agricultural production and social reproduction in this settlement. Accordingly, which approach, in this work, is a key element of national inequality, namely: the high concentration of land ownership and its socioeconomic repercussions. The ultimate goal is to qualify the agrarian question in Ribeirão Preto, where agribusiness is historically consolidated from" PDS da Barra "research, demonstrating that besides not being settled, agrarian reform can still be a valid public policy to improve the living conditions of workers and to fight against poverty.
