Abstract

In the last years, alternatives to the detection of diseases are increasingly required. One way to perform this detection is through of binding antigen/antibody. The detection antigen/antibody can occur through a variety of techniques such as: ELISA, RT-qPCR between others, but both are often not very accurate presenting false-positive results. The surface Plasmon resonance technique is presented as an analytical tool that can identify both the presence of the antigen, antibody, proteins, DNA templates, enzymes, bacteria, cells and to determine the values of the adsorption and desorption kinetics of this process. SPR technique has as its main attributes the selectivity and sensitivity, and when compared to other existing methods the advantages are its simplicity, low consumption of reagents and higher sample frequency. The surface preparation of the SPR is crucial for the good functioning of the technical. In this study we will modify the surface of the SPR in two ways: through the formation of self-assembled monolayers guided by the deposition of antibodies by Protein A and by phage deposition adsorption physic. The antigen used is bacteria Escherichia coli to validate the efficiency and the good functioning of the technical. (AU)
