Abstract

This research aims to investigate, in a comparative analysis, the regulation of the media concentration ownership in Argentina and Brazil. The main focus of the research will be the analysis of the Argentine "Lei de Meios" and the consequent decision of the Argentine Supreme Court that declared the law's constitutionality. The research also intends to investigate how this decision reflected in the Argentine and Brazilian press. To fulfill these objectives the research will examine: in a comparative study, the Argentine and Brazilian laws on the subject media concentration, the Argentine Supreme Court decision that declared constitutional the "Lei de Meios" and news of Argentine and Brazilian newspapers, in a content analysis, to investigate how the press resounded the Argentine Supreme Court decision.
