Abstract

Throughout the years 1940-1950, Brazil and Argentina present some similar socio-historical characteristics. First of all, the two countries were under nationalist governments that encouraged cultural expressions considered as genuinely national. In addition, these countries were undergoing a strong process of industrialization. Likewise, they suffered a great migratory flow coming from their countrysides towards their big cities. It this context, musical genres from different parts of the Brazilian Northeast - forming the field (BOURDIEU 2003, 1999) known as forró - and from different regions of the Argentinean countryside - forming the field called folklore - ascended to the national media scenes. There are two similar characteristics related to the topography (MAINGUENEAU, 2001; 1997) in the lyrics of these genres. Firstly, the addressor, the addressee (DUCROT, 1984; GUIMARÃES, 2002) or the characters are described as inhabitants of large cities who missed their rural places. Secondly, these places are generally described ideally. Thus, this project aims to analyze comparatively the description of the place of origin, as well as the expression of the nostalgia of these spaces in lyrics of both fields that were composed in the mentioned period. The research will be based on the Discursive Studies, as well as others areas such as Musicology, Literature, Sociology and History. (AU)
