Abstract

This research will investigate the photographic collection donated by architect and urbanist Ruth Verde Zein the Library of FAU , in 2014. This material consists in pictures of international and domestic architecture, but the focus of the research will be given to Brazilian architecture , was composed of 1,411 chromosomes. We intend to investigate whether these photographs constituted and integrated iconographic collections of design magazine in the years 1982 to 1991 , and the magazine Projeto Design , 1992 to 1996 , periods when the architect was collaborator and editor of magazines , and ask your contribution in building an architectural visual culture on Brazilian architecture. Considering the importance of this set of images for the construction of specific knowledge, this research proposes that these images are cataloged according to the procedures adopted by FAU Library, cleaned in order to preserve it and arquive the package in special furniture on the premises Library. With the aim of expanding access to the material, the slides will be scanned and inserted into Arquigrafia . The Arquigrafia is a collaborative web environment, which since 2009 has a multidisciplinary team (FAU, EMI and ACE / Naweb), which seeks through the dissemination of images to broaden the debate and criticism about the images of architecture and discuss their roles in critical field of representations.
