Abstract

Prof. Sayed Abdul Basir Samimi will collaborate directly with the ongoing FAPESP Thematic Project ARQUIGRAFIA 4.0 Experience (2020/05134-9) to develop a specific research project. Doing so, he will integrate the team of the CNPq Research Group "Representation: Imaginairy and Technology" (RITe) associate to the Centre des Recherches Internationales sur l'Imaginaire (CRI2i). RITe is based on the Caetano Fraccaroli's Sculpture and Form research Atelier at the Butantã USP Campus in São Paulo where Prof. Samimi will be welcome to work having all the expected facilities (Wi-Fi, personal computer, library access, etc.). Also, at the FFLCH's Interdepartmental Language Center, there will be Portuguese language study opportunities to be carried out.As a visiting researcher, he will be put in contact with the FAUUSP academic community and with all the ARQUIGRAFIA's partners, as the INCT-InterSCity based at the Mathematics and Statistic Institute of the University of São Paulo, right next to the FAUUSP Vilanova Artigas' building. During his stay, he will be invited to collaborate in undergraduate activities and courses, as well as in postgraduation courses, such as AUT5836 - Representation: Imaginary and Technology. This collaboration will also consider his participation in TFGs (Final undergraduation projects), master and Ph.D. evaluation boards at FAUUSP and other Brazilian institutions. At USP, as a visiting researcher, Prof. Samimi will be able to share his knowledge and field experience through the PRPi's programs USP Lectures and USP Talks, approaching topics on architectural heritage and technology, for example. Furthermore, he will be invited to participate in the ICHT2023 - International Colloquium "Imaginary: building and dwelling the Earth" to be held in São Paulo next year, besides he will integrate the 2023 RITe 9th annual seminar. This FAPESP research program will be informed to the FAUUSP's Research Commission, and from there, it will reach all the academic community through the institutional mailing, social media, network, and webpage. We are sure that during this one-year activities as a FAPESP supported visiting researcher, Prof. Samimi will surely be able to prospect future academic partnerships at USP to extend his presence and scientific collaboration in São Paulo, whether proposing new projects, integrating CEPIDs or participating in competitions to hire professors at the State of São Paulo.
