Abstract This project focuses on the study of a large sample of MaxBCG groups and clusters with the aim of determining several parameters for these systems. In particular, a sample of fossil groups (systems in which the gap in magnitude between the first and second ranked galaxies is greater than 2) and Dumbell clusters (systems with two dominant galaxies of about equal luminosities) will be studied. Radial velocities, velocity dispersions, mass, total luminosities, M/L, and search for substructures are some of the analysis planned. The results will be compared for the two samples and for samples in the literature. | |
