Abstract

This research aims to understand the training process and hence professionalization of female soccer in São Paulo. In a comparative perspective, it seeks to compare soccer practices in two different contexts, one of which can be seen as the center, the team of the Olympic Training Center and Research (Ibirapuera), and another at the periphery, with the team Asape on the east side of São Paulo. Through ethnographic research and interviews, we aim to discuss the trajectories of these players, taking into account gender issues, and the process of professionalization. For its realization, we will seek to expand categories and discuss the micro, meso and macro professionalization proposed by Jean Williams, also discussing issues of the anthropology of sports. (AU)
