Abstract

At the present stage of the research, it is my intention to give continuity to the analysis of the works of Raymond Williams. So far, the research has been centred on the texts produced by Williams during the 1950's. The following part would be an analysis of the fraction of Williams' work which was written during the 1960's and 70's. In a more specific sense, I intend to trace the development of the author's critique of modernity, first presented in Culture and Society, keeping in mind both the rupture and continuity points between the initial phase of Williams' works and the texts through which his theory began to be systematised and disseminated, all published in the 1980's.
