Abstract In the last decades, aquatic environmental have been suffering several anthropogenic impacts. For these reasons find the appropriate tool for assessing these impact is a challenge. Parasites can strongly influence individuals, populations, and communities. Other hand, environmental may influence the host-parasite interactions. Fish parasites are good models to understand and may be useful indicators of host health and aquatic health. Aquatic stressor may make hosts more susceptible to parasitism, or decrease parasitism by reducing the infective form and parasite's intermediate hosts. This research aims to use fish parasites to evaluate the health of the Jurumirim reservoir, Upper Paranapanema River, São Paulo State, Brazil. Thus, the present research attempts to produce useful results to predict economic, social and ecological impacts. (AU) | |
