Abstract

The program is developed based on two approaches: the application and use of proposed activities to individuals with dementia, enabling the participation and engagement in activities appropriate to their abilities, orientation and training of caregivers/family members in the use and implementation of these activities. The TAP-Br is the Portuguese version of the Tailored Activity Program (TAP) that was culturally adapted, considering all materials used in the intervention program. Objective: To evaluate the applicability of TAP-br and their effects on reducing the burden of care of caregivers and psychological and behavioral symptoms of the individual with dementia. Materials and Methods: The TAP-Br will receive five pairs of seniors and their caregivers for the identification of the applicability of the method of its effects in this sample. Will be used as tools to evaluate the results of the Caregiver Burden of Zarit e o Neuropsychological Inventory.
