Abstract

The success of endodontic therapy is directly related to the carefully and asseptic achievement of all phases of treatment. However, a factor that interferes with the process of tissue repair during the instrumentation process is the extrusion of dentin debris, bits of pulp tissue, necrotic tissue, microorganisms and irrigating solutions that can be forced beyond the apex, may cause inflammatory reactions and pain after instrumentation. The objective of this study is to evaluate the apical extrusion of debris using five instrumentation protocols and their correlation with root canal preparation in human mandibular molars with mesial canals of moderate curvature selected by cone beam computed tomography (n = 50). The Teeth are scanning for evaluation of two-dimensional parameters (area, roundness, major and minor diameter) and three-dimensional (volume, surface area, and SMI), before and after biomechanical preparation, through computerized microtomography. The teeth will be divided into five groups according to the biomechanical preparation to be done, each group with n = 10: GI: ProTaper System Next; GII: TF Adaptive System; GIII: System Reciproc; GIV: System One and GV Shape: System Self -Adjusting File. The teeth are adapted eppendorfs to collect the extruded material to be weighed before preparation. After biomechanical preparation, the eppendorfs be dried and weighed again. The difference between the initial and final weight of eppendorfs be considered the value of the weight of the extruded material. The results will be tested for normality, consequent choice of statistical test and analyzed with SPSS.
