The use of agitation methods of the irrigants has been increasingly recommended in Endodontics in order to enhance the cleaning and sanitation of the root canal system. However, this agitation can lead to a greater extrusion of debris and irrigators to the periapical tissues resulting in postoperative inflammation. The chelating agents etidronic acid (HEDP) and alkaline tetrasodium EDTA (EDTANa4) have been suggested as substitutes for EDTA in for the smear layer removal. They have the advantage that they can be used mixed with sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) throughout the endodontic treatment without compromising the dissolution of organic matter and the antimicrobial action of NaOCl. These substances can also promote less formation of dentin debris due to the continuous chelation process that occurs throughout the biomechanical preparation. Thus, it can be suggested that the association of these mixtures with different agitation methods would result in less extrusion of irritating substances to the periradicular region. Therefore, this project aims to compare the debris and irrigation extrusion promoted by the conventional irrigation protocols with NaOCl and NaOCl followed by EDTA and the continuous chelation protocols with the mixture of NaOCl + HEDP and the mixture of NaOCl + EDTANa4 associated or not with agitation methods. For this, uniradicular lower premolars teeth will have their pulp cavity accessed and then they will be coupled in a microtube. Afterwards, the biomechanical preparation of these teeth will be performed using the X1-file 40/.06 instrument and the irrigation protocols described above. The final irrigation will be carried out without and with agitation for 3 cycles of 20 seconds using the Irrisonic, Eddy and Easy Clean instruments. The extruded material in the microtube will be weighed before and after the evaporation of the irrigators and the amount of debris and irrigated solution extruded determined. The data obtained will be used for intergroup comparison with a significance level set at 5%.
