Abstract

The use of irrigation agitation methods has been increasingly recommended in Endodontics in order to enhance the cleaning and antisepsis of the root canal system, since at the time of biomechanical preparation of root canals, about 35% of the canal walls are not touched, especially areas of greater anatomical complexity. Thus, the use of irrigating solutions together with agitation protocols increases the irrigant's contact with the canal walls and transports the irrigator to areas of complexity, aiming to increase its cleaning power and dissolution of organic matter. Therefore, this research project aims to compare the cleaning properties and solubility of simulated tissue of irrigants, with and without the use of ultrasonic stirring tips, an experimental Sonic Vac stirring tip will be used. For this, 30 single-rooted lower premolar teeth will be divided into 3 groups and will have their pulp cavity accessed and will be instrumented with a Logic 2 instrument on the CRT, together with the instrumentation, irrigation of the canals with NaOCl will be performed following 3 different protocols: - group 1: irrigation conventional with 2.5% sodium hypochlorite without agitation; - group 2: irrigation with 2.5% sodium hypochlorite and agitation with a conventional ultrasonic tip (Irrisonic); and - group 3: irrigation with 2.5% sodium hypochlorite and agitation with the Sonic Vac experimental ultrasonic tip. After shaking, the teeth will be cleaved and analyzed in scanning electron microscopy and analyzed in scores. For the solubility test, 30 prototype teeth with two lateral openings in the root, one in the apical third and another in the middle third where capillaries will fit with chrome Catgut wire, in which they will be in contact with the canal and will allow the analysis of the dissolution power tissue. The capillary alone and with the wire inside it will be weighed before and after each protocol described above. The initial weight will be subtracted from the final weight. The difference will be divided from the initial weight and then will have the solubilization percentage. The data of the weights before and after, as well as the solubilization percentage will be submitted to normality tests by Shapiro-Wilkis. If there is a normal distribution, the intragroup data will be compared by the T test, if there is no normal distribution, the data will be compared by the Wilcoxon test. For comparison between groups, the Anova and Tukey test will be used if the distribution is normal and the Kruskal-Wallis and Dunn test, if the data do not present a normal distribution. A significance level of 5% will be used. (AU)
