Abstract
From an initial survey about the Cultural Industry and mass communication as opposed to the production of interactive audiovisual content for Digital TV in Creative Industries, we found in the work of the researcher Rosa Estopà Bagot - "Jugant a definir La Ciência" - a new horizon for our study: to elucidate and to emphasize the vital importance of fostering the relationship between population and Science, converging our intention, firstly purely theoretical, to an experimental activity of horizontal and collective construction of scientific knowledge. Thus, keeping the context of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and the new Post-custodial paradigm of Information Science (IC), we seek to investigate how new technologies could be used to develop new relationships with Science. And more objectively, what is the potential contribution of interactive Digital TV on that process and how to exploit it favorably to a more horizontal, and, therefore inclusive construction of scientific knowledge? We advocate UNESP University Television (UNESP TV) as a means to achieve and increase these relationships. More specifically, we study their production possibilities of collaborative, interactive and inclusive content, focusing a bottom-up production. UNESP TV, a digital broadcaster established in 2006 by the university "Universidade Estadual Paulista 'Julio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP) under the standards of Brazilian Digital Terrestrial Television System (SBTVD-T) establishes commitments to research and to the community, assuming goals such as: develop cultural and educational audiovisual content; encourage research in the areas of communication, technology, education and related ones; contribute to the development and improvement of SBTVD -T and promote interactivity in its contents acting convergently to ICT. Thus, through a bibliographic, documentary and experimental research coupled with participant observation, we seek to investigate it as a means to promote community access to scientific knowledge and their counterpart in its construction. We consider the environment and motion of UNESP TV, very promising considering the concerns of ICT on access to information and collaborative construction of knowledge, especially scientific knowledge. We also understand that this study is justified by the need for studies that represent the Information Science in infocommunicative processes of interactive Digital TV, such recent media in Brazil. We deal with a reality still in configuration, which lacks public measures and policies to develop their potential for inclusion. Adding to this, there is a lack of activities and initiatives in Brazil to bring the population together with Science and raise their nootropic level. (AU)
