Abstract

The research objective is to analyze the characteristics of two of the main tools of rural risk management on Brazil, the "Traditional" Proagro and Proagro "Mais", using quantitative methodologies of impact evaluation, and having the theoretical support of microeconomic theory of uncertainly, several concepts related to agricultural policy, crop insurance and various microeconometric methodologies applied to impact evaluation of social projects. In the proposed thesis will be use several materials such as databases, statistical software, external hard disks drive and web services, as well as bibliographical resources. It should be emphasized that the proposal has an horizon of twenty- two months, beginning in April 2014 and ending in February 2016. In this period of time is planned a six month special visit to University of Connecticut - USA, as researcher. (AU)
