Abstract

The main objective of this research is to advance the discussion about the Helenic identities that developed at the Mediterranean area, more specifically in the North of Aegean. The research will focus on Thasos island founded by Greeks from Paros. We will focus on the early archaic period to identify in material traces of Greek influence, specifically the Thasiens Black Figures Pottery, the process of local development, contextualization and use of this pottery through iconographic analysis. We will study the regional distribution of this material in the Archaic period, and for that, we will focus us in the city of Argilos, located in the Thracian mainland. Argilos was a city of great importance in the period in question, having close relations with Tasos. (AU)
