Abstract

False memories consist in remembering events that have never been experienced, are reminders of events that actually did not occur the way we remember, but these memories are recalled as if it really were true, becoming so in an error mnemonic. However, the level of maladjustment and emotional instability to significantly affect a larger number of false memories. In addition, high levels of social desirability are also recognized as one of the predictors of a higher number of false memories, with such striking features in anxiety disorders. The Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) consists of a strong and persistent fear of social or performance situations in which the individual could be ashamed. Therefore, the objective of this study is to investigate the effect of a Cognitive Behavioral group therapy for SAD patients on the quality of memory. Participate in this study 60 participants will be selected and distributed between three groups: the comparison group without TAS, participants without clinical symptoms; the group of participants with SAD, which will be submitted in the intervention group; and a comparison group of participants with SAD who initially did not receive the intervention (waiting list group). Participants with SAD will be distributed randomly between group intervention and waiting list group. The intervention will be evaluated in two stages, pre-test and post-test, using scores of anxiety, avoidance, fear of negative evaluation and quality memory index. After post-test will be offered intervention waiting list group, these being evaluated after the end of treatment. Statistical analyzes will be performed with parametric or non-parametric test for normality as sample. (AU)
