Abstract

Art and play are fundamental experiences for the child from 0 to 3 years, its benefits have an impact on the development of physical, cognitive, emotional and cultural values. These forms of expression and child contact with the world around enable building the repertoire of experiences and forms of ownership and symbolic meanings of the society where he lives. This research began with observations in a supervised internship, which showed the difficulties of educators to ensure moments in which artistic and playful languages occurred. What led to the questioning are guaranteed the rights of the child to playful and artistic action, provided in Brazilian official documents? This response led us to the question: are experiences with art and play assured childcare? What space, time and objects are offered by educators for art and play are provided for children 0-3 years in Early Childhood Education schools. Thus, objective of this research is to identify and describe the proposed experiments for children in this age group with the artistic languages and playfulness. To attain the goal qualitative research, a case study will be conducted, the benchmark survey is in progress, and give theoretical support for the completion of fieldwork, allowing the creation of tools for collecting and analyzing data. The techniques and tools used are based on the National Curriculum for Early Childhood Education (BRASIL, 1998), Quality Indicators(BRASIL, 2009)and the criteria for care in Nursery(BRASIL, 2009. With the final report to be forwarded to the nurseries studied, it is expected to collaborate so that children have access to playing and art. (AU)
