Evaluation of volume variation and apical deviation in simulated canals provided by instrument systems 40.04 Mtwo, Biorace and Hyflex

Abstract

The instrumentaion of mesial root canals of molars until the #40 instrument has favored the best cleaning and irrigation flow in the apical portion. The present work aims to evaluate the quality of preparation, through the volume variation and deviation of apical root canal preparation provided by three instruments 40/.04, being they: Mtwo, Bio Race and Hyflex CM employed after the preparation with the instrument Reciproc 25.08. Thirty acrylic blocks will be used which will be numbered and scanned in the micro CT 1174 for realization of the measurement of volume and area pré-instrumentation. The working length for all blocks will be stipulated at 16 mm. Initially all blocks will be prepared with an Reciproc R 25 instrument , and then it will be done a second scan. Subsequently, the blocks will be divided into 3 groups of 10 blocks each, as shown in the following: Group 1 - Mtwo System; Group 2 - Biorace System; Group 3 - Hyflex System. For achievement of mechanized Instrumentation will be employed the VDW engine, Mtwo function for instruments Mtwo, for Hyflex and BioRace on Drs function, where will be programmed the speed and torque according to the manufacturer's instructions. After the preparation, the blocks will be scanned again and made digital x-ray. With CTVol software volume measurements will be performed pre and post, the area before and after, as well as the images will be superimposed to analyze the apical deviation. The data will be statistically compared.
