Abstract

The aim of this study will be to evaluate the influence of parameters used to acquire and analyze the images in micro-CT in the evaluation of endodontic treatment procedures. Mesial roots of mandibular molars with degree of curvature between 25 ° and 35 ° (N = 12) will be selected after radiographic analysis and micro-CT scanning at 35 ¼m resolution. The root canals will be prepared by ProDesign Logic (PDL) 30.01 and 30.05 or HyFlex EDM 10.05 and 25.08 (n = 12). An additional cleaning will be performed using Passive Ultrasonic Irrigation (Irrisonic). The prepared root canals will be redistributed after preparation evaluation and will be filled by single cone and AH Plus or Bio-C Sealer (n = 12). The obturated root canals will be redistributed (n = 12) and will be retreatment by the ProDesign Logic RT system with apical enlargement up to PDL 35.05 (n = 24). Will be evaluated additional cleaning by HyFlex EDM 40.04 associated with XP-Endo Finisher R or Reciproc Blue R40 associated with the ultrasound (Flatsonic). Will be performed 6 steps of scanning: initial, after preparation, after additional cleaning, after filling, after retreatment and after adicional cleaning to retreatment. The scans will be performed with resolution of 5 ¼m (SkyScan 1272, Bruker-microCT, Kontich, Belgium). Images will be saved to obtain datasets with resolutions of 10 ¼m and 20 ¼m, and the analyzes will be performed initially by software (NRecon, Data Viewer, CTan and CTVol), besides the evaluation of the possibility of using others (Amira, Mevslab and 3 -Matic). Thus, minimum parameters will be established for the acquisition and analysis of images that allow the best evaluation of specific structures: debris, untouched surface, cracks, percentage of voids, interface filling - dentin walls and filling capacity of the material in dentin tubules. The results obtained will be submitted to the proper statistical test. (AU)
