Abstract

The project aims to work on the questions related to the process of perception mobilized on the discipline of Drawing in Architecture and Urbanism major. The study will be focused on a comparative analysis of the drawing classes in the freshman year of the following institutions: Institute of Architecture and Urbanism (IAU.USP) and College of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP)(School of Porto). It is wanted to discuss the drawing as a tool in the education of the looking, revealing the way of the sketch participates with the perspective construction of the observed place, featuring ways of this looking and consequently ways of interventions in the urban surroundings to be realized by the future professional. The present proposal will be composed of activities from Nucleus of Support to Researching in Studies of Language in Architecture and City (N.Elac), in this way having the developed discussions in this group as the basis to the deepening of the questions that will be mentioned here. The experience and the produced material in the conclusion of the discipline of Drawing in FAUP, by the proposer, thanks to the exchange in this university, will also contribute to the discussion and comparison of the didactic of the discipline on both institutions of education concerned, inside the actual context arising from the conceptual changes that comes from the art and technology.
