The maximum muscle strength generate by one muscle, or a group of muscles, allows the composition of the physical ability of a healthy person, and to quantify the performance against isometric contraction, it may be used Handheld dynamometer (HHD). Knowing that the characteristics of a determined population, it´s anthropometric data, racial, sex and age may interfere in the values of muscle strength, this study purposes to assess the reliability intra e interrater using HHD in students of Ribeirão Preto city. It will have 110 children and teenagers (5 to 15 years old) both sex, students from schools in Ribeirão Preto- SP. The isometric strength of shoulder abductor, elbows flexors and extensors, knee flexors and extensors, foot flexors and dorsiflexors will be measured by HHD according to positioning already defined in literature. The reliability intrarater will be achieved by the average of 3 measurements taken by one examiner and the interrater reliability will be achieved after repeating the test by a second examiner after pre determined interval. For data analysis will be used descriptive analysis and graphics and the intraclass correlation coefficient considering sex, age and anthropometric data.
