Abstract

The present study will be performed within the line of research Practice and formative processes in education of the graduate program in Education at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology, Universidade Estadual Paulista (FCT/UNESP). This study addresses the complexity of teacher training and its articulation with the full-time school program, advocating the need and importance of investing on the training of teachers, although this is not the focus of the political policy. It aims at reflecting on the issue of building the professional identity of teachers in this type of school, considering them as individuals who have knowledge, experiences, abilities and possibilities that qualify them to participate in the debate to expand the formative opportunities to these professionals and improve the quality of public school teaching. The study will be carried out in the municipality of Araçatuba, SP, involving four schools in the full-time school program. Managers and teachers of their respective institutions will be invited to participate in the study. The following general questions will be addressed: how does the concept of full-time Education which orients the school curriculum and teaching practices in the implementation of the full-time Education program in a municipality in the interior of São Paulo state disposes of training possibilities for teachers working with this type of Education in the public school system? What are the challenges to be faced in the construction of the professional identity of teachers working in schools with the full-time program in the municipality in question? The study adopts the qualitative research method in Education and, more specifically, intends to use a bibliographical and documental study (laws, ordinances, opinions, full time school projects in the municipality, etc.), as well as the dialogue group as investigative strategy. The main data collection tools will be: questionnaires, interviews (open and semi-structured) and the researcher's field journal. (AU)
