Abstract

This PhD project is intended in investigating the processes of transitions to adulthood of young residents of the city of São Paulo. Aims to contribute to the sociological understanding of this passage studying young people aged between 25 and 29 years, who participate or have participated in groups and / or youth groups. Have the purpose to understand how participation in these forms of association affects the processes of transition to adult life and at the same time as it processes the collective modes of action of the young once installed most significant experiences of adult life, such as birth of children, marriage, leaving the parents' house. It also aims to identify, in today's society, the common challenges experienced by young people to make the transition and the ways in which these common proofs are faced by them in many ways, analyzing the differences of class, race and gender.
