Abstract

Recent studies show that colon cancer and obesity may be associated to subclinical low-grade inflammation and saturated fatty acid-induced lipotoxicity. Previous study from our laboratory demonstrated that diet-induced obesity increases the secretion of TNF inducing colon carcinogenesis (Flores et al., 2012). On the other hand, anti-inflammatory effects of Omega 3 fatty acids through both the GPR120 receptor and transgenic mouse model FAT-1 (overexpress Omega 3) on the protection of colony inflammation, our aim is to evaluate the role of Omega 3 fatty acids in the development of colon cancer in several obesity models.
