Correlation of lipotheicoic acid level and symptomatology in primary infection of root canal during treatment endodontic

Abstract

The lipoteichoic acid (LTA ) plays an important role in the etiology of pulp and periapical changes. This study aims to evaluate the lipoteichoic acid levels ( LTA ) present in root canals with necrotic pulp and apical periodontitis visible radiographically during endodontic treatment using mechanical instrumentation and sodium hypochlorite 2.5% . Moreover, a correlation is made between the amount of LTA, size of periapical lesions, and clinical symptoms. For this, we used 10 teeth uni- root of patients in need of endodontic treatment , which will be prepared biomechanically with the alternating rotation system Reciproc and irrigated with sodium hypochlorite 2.5% . Collections of the root canal content shall be held immediately after the crown opening , after biomechanical preparation , after using trisodium EDTA 17% and after 14 days of action of temporary dressing (calcium hydroxide with 2% chlorhexidine gel ) . For all samples will be analyzed the lipoteichoic acid (LTA ) by enzyme immunoassay (ELISA). Periapical lesions will be measured by means of CT scans performed at the beginning of endodontic treatment , for later correlation with lipoteichoic acid and symptoms. The data will be statistically analyzed by Kruskal - Wallis test , Dunn ( significance level of 5 %) and linear correlation of Pearson.
