Abstract

Hyperchromias or hyperpigmentations are disturbs of cutaneous pigmentation that can be caused by aging, pregnancy, endocrinal disturbs, hormonal treatments and sun exposure in different degrees. Among the available treatments in the market, the most used are chemical peeling, laser therapy and lightening cosmetics. In addition, photoprotection is fundamental in prevention of hypercromias as they reduce the stimulus of pigmentation since the synthesis of melanin is stimulated by ultraviolet radiation. Considering the importance of conclusive studies that prove the influence of photoprotection on the reduction of cutaneous hyperchromias, the objective of this study is characterize the pattern of skin pigmentation, develop photoprotective formulations and evaluate the efficacy of these formulations on the reduction of cutaneous hyperchromias. For this purpose, initially, it will be realized the characterization of the pattern of skin pigmentation, development of photoprotective formulations and evaluation of its efficacy ,by biophysical and skin imaging techniques to determinate the skin color, quantification of melanin, detection of cutaneous hyperchromias and quantify the epidermal pigmentation . After that, photoprotective formulations will be developed and its efficacy related to the reduction of hyperchromias will be evaluated by the techniques previously cited. The datas will be analized statistically for discussion and conclusion of the obtained results.
