Abstract

The health field, especially at what it refers to mental health, goes through a continuous process of transformation, searching for alternate possibilities to the psychiatric hospitals assistances' approach. In this context, the interventions made in groups were the highlights as an effective and viable therapeutic possibility to diverse publics and demands. An important perspective is the therapeutic handling of the group, that happens and that influences the work's therapeutic potential, as well as its development. The Mental Health Community Group (Grupo Comunitário de Saúde Mental - GCSM) is a modality of care and promotion of health that brings new possibilities of acting towards psychic suffering, proposing the mental health care through an act of attention and valorization of the day-by-day life and of the person. The intention of this research is to comprehend the group handling that goes on at the GCSM and its relation to the development and particularities of it. The corpus will be made out of transcriptions of six group meetings at the HD-FMRP-USP, which the audio-recorded contempt belongs to the historical register of this institution. There will be qualitative analyses of the coordinator's participation and interventions during such meetings; in order for that to happen, the Thematic Contempt Analyses - compounded by pre-analyses, data exploration and treatment and obtained results' interpretation - will be used. The systematization, in a scientific study, of the therapeutic management that happens at the GCSM can collaborate to the comprehension of the group as a whole, and also of therapeutic group's handling in groups in a general form.
