Abstract

This project aims the synthesis of cross-linked hydrogels based on N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm) and 2-(2-methoxyethoxy) ethyl methacrylate (MEO2MA) by Controlled Radical Polymerization (CRP). Copolymers of NIPAAm and MEO2MA will be synthetized using Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP), and characterized with respect to its composition and physical-chemical properties in solution. It is expected to obtain responsive hydrogels, whereas PNIPAAm and PMEO2MA shown thermo-responsivity in water. (AU)
