Abstract

The present research project integrates another one bigger: The LexTraJu - o léxico para a tradução juramentada ("The lexis for certified translation" in a free translation), coordinate by Profa Dra. Lidia Almeida Barros, from the State University of São Paulo, UNESP, in the city of São José do Rio Preto. Our project aims to identify and study the terminological set of greater relevance to the field of Brazilian marriage certificates; and prepare a monolingual Portuguese glossary of the selected terms. The survey of terms will be from a set of Brazilian marriage certificates, and the data will be recorded on the platform e-Termos ("e-Terms"), which is available on the Internet for researches in the Terminology field. The linguistics analysis of the terms selected from the Brazilian marriage certificates intend to establish the general profile of this terminology: identifying the main meaning relations (semantics) established between the extracted terms of the corpus (synonymy, polysemy, homonymy and others); verifying the existence (or not) of lexical variants in this set terminological and classifying them according to a typological standard; identifying the morphosynthactic and lexical-semantic structures prevalent in the set of terms extracted from the corpus (simple, compound and complex terms); and observing the cultural particularities that mark this terminological set, according to the Brazilian sociocultural reality. The terminological data (such as definition, usage context, grammatical category, marks of use, etc.) will be organized in form of glossary, which means as a systematic list with the terms in alphabetic order and their terminological data.
