Abstract

The poison of venomous fish Thalassophryne nattereri consists of proteins endowed with proteolytic, myotoxic properties and without phospholipase activity. Regarding inflammatory action, the T. nattereri poison demonstrate that after its injection in mice, there is a significant release of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF±, IL1² and IL6, however accompanied by a poor cellular inflammatory response. Furthermore, some studies has found that the venom affects the viability of mononuclear cell (J774A1) in culture. Also showed that alters the extracellular matrix structure in mice by activating metalloproteins (MMP2 MMP9), and decrease the content of collagen fibers during the healing phase of injury. Then, it was reported that the venom affects the organization of the cellular cytoskeleton and pseudopodia formation of epithelial cells. Recent data demonstrate an anti-inflammatory action of Natterinas bearing leukocytes in mice, indicating a regulatory role of inflammation, known that the anti-inflammatory effect is dependent on TLR4 receptors TLR2 and MyD88 signaling, which suggests that its effect is TLR antagonist. Furthermore, inhibition of the bearing Natterinas is not associated with induction of degradation signaling proteins or with the production of IL-1 and IL-10 antagonist receiver. The inhibitory effect on leukocyte rolling is dependent of the activity of the PI3K protein and PP1 activity of the serine / threonine phosphatase type 1. Knowing that the recruitment of neutrophils is reduced to the inflamed tissue, it is necessary to investigate whether the absence of cells in tissues, it may be related to the inhibitory effect of Natterinas through the expression of adhesion molecules such as integrins on leukocytes.
