Abstract

This project proposes to conduct a bibliographic and documentary research about the "sans-abris" in France. The research will take place at Institut de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les enjeux sociaux (Iris) supervised by prof. Marc Bessin. It is intended to raise the bibliography domain in order to understand a form of treatment based on social principles and procedures other than those that National Social Policy in Brazil. Therefore, the research will develop, first, on understanding a category that constructs a specific public: "sans-abris". This category is used for all European Union institutions in several national contexts. In Paris, the care to this population segment is done by maraudes, species of patrols that meet the homeless in the street as it was a medical emergency. In Brazil, the accomplishments of the homeless were not built according to the same logic and claim to be continuous and non-emergencial. Secondly, it is intended to compare the "sans-abris" as supra-national category with national category of "população em situação de rua" for the Brazilian Social Assistance Policy. (AU)
