Abstract

The current proposal presents a deep immersion of candidate in a high level research group where has been developing state of art researches on Nuclear Medicine Field, among them, the development of preclinical instrumentation. On the last decade has grown the research and the production on radiopharmaceuticals in Brazil as a result of since the economics grown of the country, the increase of global merchants and the opening of short life radiopharmaceutical production and sales ending its monopoly on Brazil in 2007. Since them grew up new facilities to production and investigation on radiopharmaceutical in Brazil, both public and private companies. Those new facilities are manly focused on 18F and FDG production; therefore some of them have done research to provide other radiopharmaceuticals based on 18F or 11C. The development of radiopharmaceuticals, even the ones already recognized in foreign countries, but not yet produced in Brazil, must pass by different development phases, including animal tests, as too expected dosimetric evaluation aiming to get an estimation of radiation dose absorbed by the living being. Even for dosimetric evaluation for image or treatment purposes, to obtain the radiopharmaceutical spatial and temporal distribution into the body is necessary animal imaging, then it is necessary a specific pre-clinical system. The main researches centers in this field, look for developing its own image system, which gave them freedom to adjust it to theirs necessity, as too, to create human resources in that field. This proposal aim to provide in the future a new step into radiopharmaceutical research in Brazil, not only on medical physics aspects, but to give more reliable support to medical and pharmaceutical research in the nuclear medicine researches (AU)
