Abstract

This project aims to investigate, in a critical and experimental perspective, methodological tools and conceptual foundations arising from imagery fields of study as their possibilities of interaction with particular themes and ways of operating of the architectural representations universe. The research will be develop essentially through graphic-spatial experimentations based on the iconography of the 'Recueil et des edifices Parallele de tout genre, ancien et modernes' Durand (1800) to explore the display of organized sets of images suggesting interactions between them, taking as reference the Der Bilderatlas Mnemosyne of Aby Warburg (2003). The purpose is to produce experimental approaches in graphic montages, visual compositions and plastics schemes that explore issues coming from the case of studies concentrated on architectural representations present at Círio de Nazaré, in Belém do Pará and Guerreiro Alagoano, rooted by the constellation metaphor and other relevant metaphors, for example, river metaphor formulated by Durand (2004) and the proposed marine metaphor from the reflections of Braudel (2009) and Edward B. Tylor (DIDI-HUBERMAN cited, 2002). The research proposed here expects to bring new perspectives to approach images through images as a study tool of architectural representations from its convergence with the conceptual foundations proposed by imagery studies.
