Abstract

No comprehensive study on hand and foot musculature across the diversity of Anura has been carried out. Some articles report informative variation of these character systems, but the few studies that have included this variation in a phylogenetic quantitative analyses have focused on small taxonomic groups or small characters sets. Hyloidea is a mainly neotropical group containing more than half of the known species of Anura. The present project aims to survey variation in hand and foot musculature across Anura, focusing mostly on Hyloidea and relevant outgroups.
