The horse, animal already known as an important work tool many years ago, is still used by man to perform various tasks. Even in urban centers, its presence is remarkable and it can be noticed by the amount of animals that carry traction carts through the streets, taking as cargo, the waste and debris produced by the population, most of the times. To achieve the best performance of these animals on their activities, which often support needy families, the care for these horses health is crucial. Limb lesions are prevalent among horses, especially among those that are sometimes subjected to use inadequate equipment for traction, overload of weight, adverse pavement conditions, poor care of hooves and malnutrition. Therefore, on this research wil be made a survey of the most common injuries found in the locomotor system of the traction equines that had access to free veterinary care offered by USP-FZEA through a project developed by the culture and extension group named as Projeto Carroceiro, in the municipality of Pirassununga - SP. For that, there will be complete lameness examination in these animals, nerve blocking, radiographs and ultrasonography of members, allowing the identification of problems as osteoarthritis, tendinitis, desmitis, bone alterations and others. Besides that, a questionary about hooves care, the type of harness and work done by the animals, will be filled up, relating these factors with the injuries found in members.
