Abstract

Given the importance of water resources and the recurrent concern about the scarcity of this resource, the survey of the characteristics of groundwater supplies becomes essential to monitor and understand the aquifer systems and, consequently, improve the water resources management. Thus, this work will explore geostatistical tools to map the Bauru Aquifer System (SAB) dynamics, in the domains of Ecological Station of Santa Barbara (EEcoSB), located in the municipality of Águas de Santa Barbara/SP - Brazil. For this, will be used data from potentiometric levels monitored during the hydrological year 2014/2015, correlated with soil and terrain properties, to check the response of the BAS facing water scarcity of the hydrological year 2013/2014 that has affected the São Paulo State. The integration of different sources of information about the aquifer systems dynamics into the spatial prediction model can improve the quality of the maps and add physical sense to the estimates of groundwater levels, contributing to the groundwater resources management evaluating the water potential of the area and the aquifer oscillation mechanisms.
