Abstract

Objectives: to quantify the acute-phase proteins in mares with uterine fluid accumulation (non-experimental cases). Animals: 12 Quarter Horse mares. Procedures: Uterine fluid from mares with uterine fluid accumulation (non-experimental cases) will be evaluated for determination of acute-phase protein concentrations on days 0 (ovulation), and 2, 3, 4, and 5 days after ovulation. Data from the 2 groups will be compared. Clinical relevance: Concentrations of acute-phase proteins in mares with uterine fluid accumulation will be determined in the uterine fluid.
